About The Band Perry
The Band Perry is a rising country music band founded in 2005.
The band is made up of siblings Kimberly, Reid, and Neil.
The eldest is Kimberly, who sings the lead vocals and plays rhythm guitar and piano. She was born in 1983.
The middle child Reid, who was born in 1988 is the peace keeper of the band, and he plays the bass and sings the backup vocals.
The baby of the band is Neil (1990), he plays the mandolin, accordion, and drums, and also sings background vocals.
All three siblings help to write a great majority of the songs they sing and have been performing since a young age.
In her teen years, Kimberly originally toured as a solo artist with her younger brothers opening for her band.
The siblings finally came together to form The Band Perry in 2005.
TBP was signed in August 2009 by Republic Nashville and released their first single in November of that year. It peaked at #20 on the Billboard Country Charts in early 2010. April 2010 brought an EP titled The Band Perry featuring 5 songs. If I Die Young was released in May 2010 and was TBP's first number 1 and platinum single. This song touched many people who had lost loved ones too soon and gained some fans outside of the country genre. The song earned them a CMA nomination and a Grammy nomination before the release of their debut album. Their debut album was released in October of 2010 and has since then gone gold.
